Lets Talk Balance!
If your like me and your work 9-5 or whatever your schedule is you need to find a good balance. Going to work everyday and coming home can become a routine very quickly. While some people like the routine lifestyle, others like myself don’t. I prefer to have something to look forward to. This is honestly something I am still struggling with. I can’t find something that I can look forward to besides my blog. I tried going to the gym, I tried working out and writing. I have a lot of free time on my hands and using is wisely is something I’m still working on. Personally I hate a routine lifestyle, I hope to one day be able to work on my own time and terms. I feel like now is the time for me to take care of myself and my livelihood. Make sure you treat yourself every time you get paid. You deserve something new and nice every time you get paid for working hard to provide for yourself. If you have a family still find the time to treat yourself. Ladies get your nails done, feet done, and hair done. Do something to make yourself feel good. Start eating a few healthy meals a week to help get rid of all the junk food. DETOX! I’m going to challenge myself to a detox and blog it! Know what your priorities are and that they come first. Examine your values and decide what’s important, then set boundaries. Understand that this will look different to everyone. What’s important to you may not be important to me and in that case our boundaries will be different. This can depend on where you are in life, whether you are working on a career, building a family, or even graduating school, your focus is different. Try not to bite off more that you can chew. This is important to your mental health. Juggling too many projects can be harmful to your wellbeing. Understand that everything does not have to be done at the same time, allow yourself space to enjoy your moment. Learn to expect the unexpected! Do not stress over anything you CAN NOT CONTROL. I’m not to type of person to stress very easily, I literally just roll with whatever comes my way, and find a way to learn from it. When I’m talking balance, I’m not saying everything will be 50/50. Sometimes your balance could look like 70/30 60/40. That depends what is happening in your life. Maybe you’re trying to build a career which will require a little more attention. THIS IS FINE! As long as you give something else attention and take care of yourself this is fine. Maintain a healthy mindset! It’s important to know that some things will not go as planned, but everything goes the way that it is supposed to. We try to do everything all in one and ultimately put too much on our plate. A healthy balance requires self-discipline. Discipline your mind to want that balance. It’s crucial to maintaining a good mental health.
My Advice on Discipline: Every week on Sunday I set out new challenges to self-discipline myself, and ultimately create a better balanced lifestyle. I do little stuff to challenge myself like this:
Not buying food for lunch to save money.
Making my bed every morning to keep my room cleaned.
Getting my clothes out at night.
Setting reminders to pay bills so I’m not late.
Making dinner every night to take lunch to work.
Not checking social media the first thing in the morning.
Planning what I’m going to write about on my blog.
These are just a list of the things I do in my life to create a healthy life all around. This week challenge yourself with three different things that will help with your mental health, saving money, or simply saving energy. I’m going to create three this week as well. I will be sharing on my social media.
